For the indignant Huckabee defenders out there

For any of you GOP-no-matter-what types out there who want to deflect the discussion away from Mike Huckabee showing what a complete and total hypocritical ass he is, here are his comments about Bristol Palin’s teen pregnancy in 2008, as published in Christianity Today (unless that’s suddenly become a left-wing hotbed of lies, too):

“The way the media went after Bristol Palin, the daughter, is the most shameful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. If anything, it just caused to run to her. Everyone understands that the basis of being a Christian is that everyone has fallen short of God’s ideal. Everyone understands that … We all mess up, the issue is how we respond to it. What she showed us is exactly what we wanted to see in terms of a witness.” ~ Mike Huckabee, Christianity Today, September 5, 2008

Here’s the complete article in Christianity Today.

And just so we don’t tag Huckabee as a two-faced schmuck in only the political arena, here are his comments about Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy at 16:

“It’s a tragedy when a 16-year-old who is not really prepared for all the responsibilities of adult life is going to be now faced with all the responsibilities of honest-to-goodness adult life. I respect it.”

“Apparently, she’s going to have the child and I think that is the right decision, a good decision, and I respect that and appreciate it. I hope it is not an encouragement to other 16-year-olds who think that is the best course of action.”

“But at the same time I’m not going to condemn her. There’ll be plenty of people in line to do that and I always look for the shortest lines. I just hope that she will make another right decision and that’s to give that child all the love and kindness and care that she can.”

The complete interview is HERE and HERE.

This is the fun part of political commentary. I don’t even have to really think of a way to prove my points: These vote-pandering swine and their unquestioning drone followers do it for me.
