Mike Huckabee: [Rectal Expletive] of the week.

Posted on March 4, 2011

During a televised interview this week, on Fox News of course, former Arkansas Governor and potential 2012 presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee slammed Portman for “glamorizing unwed pregnancy.”

While Huckabee praised Portman as a “very brilliant and admirable actress,” he suggested her pregnancy sends a bad message to the country.

“She got up, she was very visibly pregnant,” Huckabee said. “And it’s really it’s a problem because she’s about seven months pregnant. It’s her first pregnancy, and she and the baby’s father aren’t married, and before two billion people, Natalie Portman says, ‘Oh I want to thank my love and he’s given me the most wonderful gift.’ He didn’t give her the most wonderful gift, which would be a wedding ring! And it just seems to me that sending that kind of message is problematic.”

Hey Huck, did you consult Levi Johnston about what his views are on this “shameful, shameless travesty against God”?  What are Sarah Palin’s thoughts on what a disgrace unwed motherhood is?  She must agree that it’s “problematic.” Otherwise, she wouldn’t have personally used her gubernatorial line-item veto to slash the funding for an unwed mother’s assistance program in Alaska. (See here: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2008/09/palin-slashed-funding-to-help.html)

The former governor, who is also a pundit on Fox News, called Portman’s pregnancy “troubling” and suggested it might “glorify and glamorize” the idea of having children outside of marriage.

You mean like the way Bristol Palin’s unwed pregnancy glorifies and glamorizes the idea?

Huckabee argued that most single mothers aren’t in the same position as Portman in terms of her lifestyle and resources.

Oh .. so as long as the woman gets knocked up but is wealthy, then it’s okay?  Oh … wait … I forgot. When Republicans get knocked up without being married, they’re practicing “good, solid, pro-life ethics and morals.”  I can’t help but notice that you had no hesitation when you blocked a federal judge’s order and prevented Medicaid funding for teen abortions: http://www.crisispregnancy.com/birth-mother/huckabee-blocks-medicaid-funding-of-teens-abortion.html.

“There aren’t really a lot of single moms out there who are making millions of dollars every year for being in a movie,” Huckabee said.

And there are even fewer single moms out there who are appearing on “Dancing with the Stars” and having a ridiculous “memoir” ghost-written at age 20, and who *ARE* famous for no other reason than *BECAUSE* she’s an unwed mother.

At least Natalie Portman has
A) an advanced collegiate degree from Harvard;
B) a solid and well-founded professional career;
C) brains enough to have not gotten knocked up when she was 16 and partying after dropping out of high school; and
D) enough integrity to not charge people $30,000 per appearance to travel around the country on a lecture tour promoting abstinence and personal responsibility under the banner “Don’t f*ck up the way I did.”

“And I think it gives a distorted image,” Huckabee said. “Most single moms are very poor, uneducated, can’t get a job, and if it weren’t for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death and never have health care. And that’s the story that we’re not seeing.”

And yet, Huckabee has no qualms about supporting the Republican mantra that the “obvious” answer to this horrific unwed mother problem is to slash the funding to any and all government programs that exist to help them, right?  So, what’s your message here, Huck?  “Don’t get knocked up unless you can profit from it”?

Could this ass-clown be *ANY* more of a hypocrite?

Hey Huckabee!  Do you know who else was born to a woman who wasn’t married to the father?   Jesus Christ.

Preach that, “reverend.”
