I’ll have a BLT … hold the streptococcus

I heard on NPR this morning heard on NPR this morning that eating at the average corporate work desk has four times more infectious germs than the average toilet seat.

The independent study, commissioned by the National Center for Disease Control, says that the ambient germs in the air of an enclosed office environment, concentrated by any given number of people being sick or contagious at any given time and the recycled air of corporate air control systems, makes the surface of just about any office furniture or furnishing 400% more infectious than a toilet seat.

That figure sky-rockets to more than 2700% for common areas such as vending machines, coffee stations and door handles.

Kinda makes you think twice about digging into that office pot luck lunch, huh?

In a related story, sales figures for anti-bacterial disinfectant wipes rose 3 gazillion percent … tomorrow.
